Admin Announcements

Happy November, Raiders!

We have embarked on the second nine weeks of the school year. It is vital that you and your student stay on top of grades. Please make sure that you are having conversations with your students on ways that they can improve grades and end the semester earning all of their credits. Remember that you can always reach out to your students' teacher for support on improving grades.

We are very excited that we are getting closer and closer to the opening of the MAC, Middlebury Activity Center. Please keep an eye out on social media for dates of our first basketball games and other events happening in the MAC to attend.

Lastly, a quick reminder: all home athletic events are free for students!

Thank you for your continued support, and have a wonderful fall season!

New Pathway

The new Education Pathways classes at NHS began in early October to work, observe, and help in classes at several MCS buildings. Every Tuesday, students are taken to OVE, HIS, and NMS to support educators in their classrooms. Not only does this showcase our amazing educators and their generosity in welcoming students in, but it has also been a highlight for our students at NHS, too. We have a great cohort working toward helping make a difference in their classroom placements.  The program is fostering connections between buildings for both students and staff at the same time that it is equipping future educators.

Cry Of the Peacock

The Northridge Theater Troupe will be presenting its competition play for the public on Wednesday, November 20th at 7:00 pm in the Northridge Performing Arts Center. Competition plays are traditionally serious dramas based on social issues. This year the theme is child abuse.

Young Mary has suffered some kind of trauma as evidenced by her monster-filled dreams and the horrific scratches on her neck and back. Who did this to an innocent 9-year-old, a child who finds comfort through an imaginary pet peacock? Dr. Janice Todd is called before a review board to defend her investigation of the child abuse case. She recounts her discoveries and interviews with the Blanton family, and scenes of Mary’s recent past are brought painfully to life. Three judges, staged as omniscient, skeptical shadows, and several surreal nightmare monsters who taunt and terrify, bring Mary’s abuse into stark scrutiny. In memories and revelations, the line between fact and fiction blurs, leaving one grasping for the truth. The truth that monsters are real, living among us, hiding behind the faces of the people we know and trust.

The performance is free to anyone in the community. We will be taking donations for CAPS, an organization that deals with child abuse in our local communities.
