We hope that you are enjoying your summer break, Raiders. Throughout the year, you will receive this digital newsletter to keep you up to date on all of the happenings at NHS.

We recommend that you thoroughly read through the newsletter as this will be a main form of communication to events, policies, and changes throughout the year.

State Cell Phone Policy

Use of a wireless communication device or cellular telephone in a classroom is not allowed unless at least one of these conditions is met:

● the classroom teacher allows it for educational purposes

● it is used by the student in the event of an emergency

● it relates to an approved health care plan

These devices include but are not limited to laptops, cellular telephones, smartwatches, digital music players, tablets, personal gaming devices, etc.

Drug Testing Policy

Drug Testing – Random – Student drivers and those involved in co-curricular and extra-curricular events will be randomly tested for banned substances. Students are expected to sign a policy document before beginning participation in these activities.

• Student drivers are subject to random drug testing. The student and his parent or guardian must sign and turn in the random drug testing agreement to receive a parking tag.

• Students who test positive will not only have school related consequences, but will lose driving privileges and participation privileges in co-curricular and extracurricular activities.

Student Parking

All students must have a parking pass to park on school property. Students must park in designated parking zones. Student drivers must enter door 49 (formally door 33-door off of student parking lot) prior to the start of the school day. Parking violations will result in towing of vehicles.

Traffic Flow

As we continue to move through construction on the MAC, it will be imperative to stay up to date on traffic flow. Traffic patterns will be announced prior to the beginning of the school year through this newsletters and all of NHS Social Media Pages.
