Dear OVE Families,

On September 25th, I had the honor of representing OVE at the Indiana Statehouse, where we joined other select schools from across the state in celebrating an impressive achievement: a 95% or higher pass rate on last year’s IREAD-3 literacy assessment. This accomplishment reflects the exceptional dedication of our school staff and the strong partnership we have with families and all stakeholders. Thank you for your continued support in making this possible!

Recently, our K-2 students completed the dyslexia screener and the fall NWEA assessments. These evaluations provide us with valuable information about student learning, helping us better tailor our instruction to meet their needs. We will be sending out a Thrillshare message to all families, so please be on the lookout for when the results will be sent home with students.

Later this month, our third-grade students will pilot the first ILEARN Checkpoint, a reading and math assessment that provides a snapshot of their understanding of key 3rd-grade standards. These results will help us prepare for the redesigned ILEARN summary assessment that will begin next school year.

Parent-Teacher Conferences are scheduled for Monday, October 21st, and Wednesday, October 23rd. Fall break will follow from October 25th thru October 28th. An information letter will be sent home with details on how to sign up for a conference time digitally through our OVE website. Our goal is to meet with 100% of our families during these conferences.

Thank you for your continued support. If you have any questions, concerns, or feedback, please don't hesitate to reach out to me directly—I'm always available to help.

Fly Eagles Fly,

Mr. Martin, Principal

With the completion of the first several weeks of school, our end-of-the-day routines are in place!  We would like any parent who needs to assist their child with a booster or seat belt to pull into a parking space after their child enters the vehicle.  At that point, you can feel free to exit the vehicle and assist as needed.  We hope this will allow for safety to be maintained and the movement of cars pulling forward to take place without a vehicle stopping and subsequently holding up the line of traffic. Additionally, students should only be entering the vehicle on the sidewalk side. Thank you for your help!

Student Meal Accounts

OVE parents, did you know that you can easily deposit money into your student’s meal account? When you register with the Linq Connect website, you can make deposits, set up recurring deposits, OR just use the website to monitor what your child is purchasing in the OVE cafeteria. You can also set up notifications to let you know when your child’s balance is low. In addition, you can apply for free or reduced meals on the same website at any time during the school year. Go to linqconnect.com from any computer, tablet or mobile device and create a free account. There is also a mobile app available in the Google Play Store and Apple Store. If you have any questions, please feel free to call Gini Bennett, Bookkeeper, at 574-825-5094.
