September 2024

Dear OVE Families,

As we kick off a new school year, we want to emphasize the importance of a few key habits that greatly contribute to your child's success:

1. Daily Attendance: Consistent attendance is crucial for your child's academic and social development. Every day at school counts!

2. Reading Together: Reading to your child daily not only strengthens their literacy skills but also nurtures a lifelong love for learning. We encourage you to make reading a part of your everyday routine.

3. Encouraging New Experiences: We love seeing our students make new friends and try new things. Encourage your child to explore new activities, join clubs, and build new friendships throughout the year.

Fundraising Update: This year, we will not be holding our traditional Walk-a-Thon fundraiser. Instead, we invite all families to actively support the PTO as we focus our fundraising efforts on an exciting new playground project, targeted for installation in the summer of 2025. Your support is essential as we work together to create a fantastic play space for our students!

Spirit Wear Store: We are excited to announce that our OVE spirit wear store will be opening later this fall! Stay tuned for more information, as we aim to have items available for purchase and delivery before the holidays.

Get Involved! There are many ways to get involved at OVE! Whether you have a passion for mentoring, volunteering in the classroom, assisting the PTO, or even joining our team as a substitute teacher or applying for one of our remaining assistant positions, we welcome your involvement. Your time and talents make a significant difference in our school community.

Thank you for your continued support and commitment to our school. We are thrilled to have your student as an OVE Eagle, and look forward to a wonderful year ahead!

Fly Eagles Fly,

Mr. Martin, Principal

OVE parents, did you know that you can easily deposit money into your student’s meal account? When you register with the Linq Connect website, you can make deposits, set up recurring deposits, OR just use the website to monitor what your child is purchasing in the OVE cafeteria. You can also set up notifications to let you know when your child’s balance is low. In addition, you can apply for free or reduced meals on the same website at any time during the school year. Go to linqconnect.com from any computer, tablet or mobile device and create a free account. There is also a mobile app available in the Google Play Store and Apple Store. If you have any questions, please feel free to call Gini Bennett, Bookkeeper, at 574-825-5094.
