A note from Mr. Kominowski....
York is off to a great start for 2025! Walking through the hallways every day, I am amazed at the progress we are continuing to make. Just a short while ago we celebrated our 100th day of school! Kindergarten students are moving from letter recognition to reading, first graders are mastering time and money, second graders are working on complex multi-digit addition, and third graders are moving into solving word problems covering area and perimeter. I am also just as pleased with our character and social growth. We are having more and more students recognized for demonstrating our habits of scholarship! They are demonstrating compassion for their classmates, persevering through a tough task, and working on integrity. After 100 days of school, our York students are demonstrating characteristics and qualities that will make them successful as adults. Take the time to ask your students about those characteristics.
Parents, did you know we also serve breakfast every day upon your student's arrival at school? Breakfast is served in the cafeteria, and we offer a variety of hot and cold options daily for students to choose from. Breakfast is $1.70 per day, $0.30 if your student is eligible for reduced priced meals, and free for those who qualify for free meals. Take a look at our breakfast menus online or in the app and let us check one thing off your to-do list in the mornings!
2025-2026 Potential Kindergarteners
We are currently taking information for next year's potential Kindergarteners. If you or someone you know will have a child that will be 5 on or before August 1, 2025, they will be eligible to start kindergarten for the 2025-2026 school year. Please fill out the below link to help us get some preliminary information. You may also contact the school office for a paper copy. Thank you!

Snow and Cold temperatures mean bundling up for recess! Please help check your child's backpack for school in the morning to make sure they have their winter gear packed up. Also, encourage them to check lost and found often for those missing items!
2024 -2025 Yearbooks
Yearbook order forms will be coming home soon! The cost is $15.00 per book. Please use a separate order form for each student. All forms are due back by March 21st. An online order code will be available as well.

YORK PTO AUCTION
The majority of the items are available for bidding online beginning Friday, January 31st at 3:00pm. Check out the site, bid high and bid often: https://www.32auctions.com/yorkauction2025
The LIVE auction will include class projects and several hot items you don't want to miss. LIVE auction begins at 11:15 on February 8th.
All bidders must register for an account online and pick up a bidder number from the check-in desk before bidding on live auction items.
Computers will be onsite for registration, however, you can save time on auction day by registering for an account ahead of time!
There will be kid's activities located in the gym area. These will include an inflatable obstacle course, face painting, and carnival style games. The cost will be $5/child.

York celebrated the 100th day of school on Friday, January 24th! Kindergarten students were able to decorate shirts and had a fashion show to celebrate the day. We saw some great creativity!
