A Note from Mr. Kominowski...
We have officially made it through half of the school year! My hope is that over winter break we can reset and relax. For many of us, this time is much needed. It's always important to reset and spend time with family. As we look back on the past year, take some time to reflect on how we have grown and adapted. It seems like just the other day we were welcoming our kindergarten students in and introducing ourselves to our new students. Now, it's hard to believe that we are soon opening the door to register our next year's
classes.
I also wanted to thank our PTO for all their work in auction preparation. They are working behind the scenes to make sure our auction will be a huge success. Whether that is collecting donations, helping with class projects, or counting raffle tickets. Our PTO has put in so much time to make this a successful event. Don't forget to mark your calendars for February 8th!
We will see you again in 2025! I am excited and optimistic about this new year and what it will bring!
Parent Lunch Policy
For the safety of our students, anyone wishing to eat with their child(ren) will need an approved background check on file. Background checks can be completed online under the human resources link on the MCS website.
If you are ordering a school lunch, please call the office by 9:00 AM to place your order.
Outside food can be brought in, but is not able to be eaten in the cafeteria. We will find an alternate location for you and your child to eat.
Cold Weather
We ask that you take the time to make sure your child comes prepared for the cold weather with hats, boots, gloves, coat, and snow pants when needed. It is also helpful to write names or initials inside those items. It helps lost items find their owners!
Speaking of lost and found. We have many items that have gone unclaimed. Pictures were posted on our newsfeed/website as well as Facebook a week or so ago. All unclaimed items will be donated before break. Please encourage your child to look for any items you cannot find at home. Thank you!

PTO Auction News
The PTO here at York has been supporting our school through the annual auction for longer than most of us can remember! Through our PTO our students, staff, and families receive access to additional materials, support, and technology not funded through the school district. This includes supplementary books for classrooms and for student birthdays, access to technology platforms and equipment for PE, art, music, and recess. Funds area also used to provide supplies, clothing, and other items to support many of our students.
We are looking forward to our upcoming 2025 auction event! We invite you to visit our auction site beginning on Friday, January 31st starting at 3:00pm. You may begin bidding on any of the items provided by a generous community or for projects and baskets created by each of our classrooms. You will find the auction at:
www.32auctions.com/yorkauction2025
The in person portion of our event will begin at 10AM on Saturday, February 9th and will include a Kids Zone featuring an inflatable obstacle course, carnival games, face painting, and more!
Information about Raffle Tickets will be coming home January 13th. This is another way for you to reach out to family and friends near and far to support York and have a chance to win up to $200!
PTO Continued...
All of our volunteers are amazing! They are currently working behind the scenes on class projects. There is so much happening and we cannot wait for you to see what all we have been working on.
Each class is also creating a class basket. We would appreciate your contribution of an item or funds to assist in purchasing items for your class basket by January 17th. Take a look at the themes our teachers have chosen this year and if you have any questions, please reach out to your child's teacher.
Make sure to join the PTO Facebook group to see updates, items, previews, and lots of other important information!
